1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
½ cup plain or vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon of salt
½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
¾ cup of sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 ripe bananas, mashed

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar. Stir in the eggs, yogurt, and vanilla extract. Add the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips to create a banana chocolate chip snack cake recipe.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
